Opportunities

Opportunities are keyword targets discovered from your site's search data, AI suggestions, or manual entry. They represent potential content topics worth creating or improving.

How opportunities are discovered

Google Search Console pull

The primary source. RankerBase pulls keyword data from Google Search Console and scores each query based on impressions, average position, and click-through rate. The system focuses on keywords where you're close to ranking well but have room for improvement.

GSC data is pulled automatically on a weekly schedule, or you can trigger a pull manually from the Opportunities page.

AI keyword suggestions

Generate keyword ideas based on your site's niche and content using the Suggest Keywords button on the Opportunities page.

Manual entry

Add keywords directly to the opportunities list. This is useful for targeting specific topics or filling gaps not captured by Search Console.

Keyword enrichment

Opportunities can be enriched with search volume and difficulty estimates. Enrichment adds estimated monthly search volume, keyword difficulty score, and CPC data to each opportunity — helping you prioritize which topics to tackle first.

Opportunity scoring

Each opportunity receives a weighted score based on:

  • Search impressions and position from GSC
  • Enriched volume and difficulty data (when available)
  • CTR potential

Higher-scored opportunities appear at the top of the list.

Promoting to backlog

Promote an opportunity to the content backlog with a single click, or use bulk promote to move multiple keywords at once.

Once promoted, the keyword becomes a backlog item ready for content generation. The original opportunity is marked as promoted.

Bulk operations

The Opportunities page supports bulk actions:

  • Bulk promote — Move selected opportunities to the backlog
  • Bulk add — Add multiple keywords at once
  • Bulk enrich — Enrich selected keywords with volume/difficulty data
